This Week @ Elim: 5-16 thru 5-22-2009

Saturday: The men will meet at 9:00 am for a time of study, fellowship, and sharpening each other in the Lord. This study for men of all ages, will continue its discussion of “Practical Religion” by J.C. Ryle. The focus of this study, stems from this challenge by the Apostle Paul in Acts 15:36: Let us go back and visit the brothers in all the towns where we preached the word of the Lord and see how they are doing. This was a wise and useful proposal. Men, let’s apply it to ourselves today. Let’s see how we are doing.

They installed new electrical outlets, organized all our equipment, and made a safe, efficient storage and workplace. Thanks to these men who worked so hard so that we can enjoy a clean garage!

Frankly, I am surprised that it is still such a delight to me. Now, notice I did not say it is a delight to you! But, I trust that might be the case as many of you take the time to mention how this or that particular writing has been a help to you or to someone with whom you have shared. Read more…

God’s Word AND???

We have been reminded by Jude during our Sunday morning worship, not to forget what the Scriptures teach about God’s judgment on those who failed to abide by His Word (Jude 5). Jude used some vivid and tragic illustrations from the Old Testament to emphasize this point (Jude 5-7, 11, 14-15). Read more…
