This Week @ Elim: 6-26 thru 7-3-2010

On the Lord’s Day:

  • 9:15 am — Sunday school classes for all ages: Classes for graded age groups meet to learn from the Scriptures. To see Sunday school classes, ages and meeting locations, click on the red “Ministries” button under the category “Pages” (to the right).
  • 10:30 am — We continue to look at The Church around the World from Acts 13. If you have missed any messages recently, please contact the church office if you would like a CD copy. Also, sermons are available for play or download on Elim’s website under the “Sermon” category on the right side of the page.
  • Requested sermon CDs from June 13 and June 20 are now available in the specially marked box on the back table in the sanctuary.

During the Week:

  • No Church League Softball this week or next. Consider it the All-Star Break!
  • Midweek Bible Studies are on hiatus until September. Please see this week’s bulletin for special information and instruction.

Upcoming and Ongoing:

  • The monthly prayer breakfast will be held on Saturday, July 17th at 9:00 am. Please come and pray for the church family and our ministries around the world.
  • Mid-August, we’re losing 2 of our most enthusiastic volunteers to the Elim Nursery. We need 2 new helpers; one for the Nursery-age Sunday school class (ages 2-3), and one for the Beginner Class (ages 4-5). All child care workers at Elim must be approved through our Child Care Protection Policy. Please contact the church office for additional information.
  • Our newest missionaries are coming to visit us July 31 thru August 14th. A list of open times that you may host the family and get to know them better is in the bulletin. Please contact the church office to schedule your time with the missionaries.

From the Pastor’s Recent Reading:

(Considering The Lord’s Prayer:)
“It is worth noting that there are no singular pronouns in this prayer; they are all plural. It begins with ‘OUR Father.’ When we pray, we must remember that we are part of God’s worldwide family of believers. We have no right to ask for ourselves anything that would harm another member of the family. If we are praying in the will of God, the answer will be a blessing to all of God’s people in one way or another.” —Warren Wiersbe, Be Loyal
